Helmets - The Patterns and Uses of the Different Style Helmets

New schemes from banks and other companies have made access to our passions much easier and the only passion common in the youth is the bike-riding. As such, number of bikes in the country has increased tremendously. Increased traffic means increased number of risks of accidents on roads. Some really responsible citizens always use a helmet for their protection, but past many years the use of motorcycle helmets has been made mandatory. As a result, people are deciding upon which helmet to wear and which not. This confusion is very common and just needs the right guide for the same. Type of helmet depends upon your riding experience like amateur, professional or novice. In any case, a helmet is a pre-condition for a safe riding.

The two types of helmets available are 'full face helmets' and 'modular helmets'. For a novice or a beginner, a safer helmet, i.e. a full face helmet accompanied with ISI mark is preferable. A full face helmet covers your head down to the chin. There is a bar fixed at the chin which is movable for the rider's convenience, but the only a kind of drawback in these helmets is that you need to take them out for having something or for drinking water. These drawbacks can be undermined, for they will provide confidence to excel your riding skills with ensured safety.

Next are the professional or experienced riders which need the speed and must wear a helmet too. The risk of crashes increases with the pace. Full face helmets are heavy, but much safer. Actually, there is no significant difference between full face and modular helmets. It's just that the modular helmets are less heavy and do not need to be removed when drinking water, etc. and just need to pull the face mask up. From the safety point of view for the speedy riders, full face helmets are more advisable. Besides the protection of head, dust and rush of air is also averted from entering into eyes with help of the face mask in front. Lesser the number of distractions, lesser is the risk of mishap.

The amateur riders, riding for fun and at a low-risk speed, have a full fledged choice of helmets. Helmets come in various sizes and appearances. Stylish helmets, although less, but do have a safety factor and are preferred by the calm riders. All of them may not be ISI certified, but are ideal for voyaging leisurely.

In spite of the importance and necessity of wearing a helmet, many still overlook its use. It is still felt uncool to wear a helmet, talking practically. Let me give you a true example of the importance of a helmet enough convincing in my view. I, myself, used to hate wearing a helmet, until I met a crushing mishap. It was a usual day and I was going to hang out with friends and for us, bikes are important for hang outs. As we were moving on to the destination, we sped up on a road without any bumps. Who knew that just due to the scattered sand particles, my bike would skid off the road. I was shoved on the road with so huge thrust that there was hardly any body part left without any bruises, but my head had the worst wreck of it all. Doctor even suggested a CT scan for head and X-ray for one shoulder. I got bulges on my cheeks and looked like a black moon for more than a week and all this wouldn't happen if I had wore a helmet, be it full face or modular. What worse than this could make a guy realise the importance of a helmet? I wear it regularly since then and hopefully you all will do the same.
