Carbon fiber and the Motorcycle Helmet

Carbon fiber motorcycle helmets are one of the most modern helmets around. The carbon fiber used to refer to carbon filament threads woven into cloth or felt. It may also be a composite material made from carbon filaments that make up the protective shell of your helmet. This material can also be combined with another material such as Kevlar in the manufacture of lighter models and stronger helmet.

Carbon fibers in helmets are made by overheatingacrylic fiber that results to better strength and stiffness properties of weight. Carbon fiber composites can achieve the strength of metals at a significant savings in weight, the two factors necessary to make quality headset.

Kevlar is created by dissolving a polymer in a solvent and then extracting the fibers, then woven to form threads. Although Kevlar has properties that are similar to carbon fiber, it lacks the force of compression. By combining carbon fiber and Kevlar, one can obtaina laminate that has three times the flexural strength than that of Kevlar alone.

These headphones provide a light still more durable than most fiberglass helmets. With such material, it is now possible to make helmets more compact, lighter and less bulky.

I don't know if I just got lucky or what, but I never experienced any issue with my helmet and I had it a year+ (daily rider). I can't stand people that equate money spent with safety received... still I did question a helmet that cost less than 0. There was no reason to doubt this helmet. I crashed my bike when a cager decided to lock up his brakes mid lane change right in front of me. With nowhere to go I ended up dropping my bike going down hill, high-siding my bike, and landing straight on my helmet. It busted the vents on my helmet and otherwise beat it up the helmet pretty good. I didn't sustain any head or neck injuries. This helmet performed perfectly. Absolutely perfect. I would buy this helmet again in a heartbeat.

Drawback: it IS noisy and a bit heavy.

Conclusion: Saved my life, can't argue with a helmet that can do that. Great modular design is a huge plus. Pretty noisy. Ear plugs recommended on long rides.

Open style headphones - one for each preference

The open face helmet is a great style for both men and women. This is also known as a style of three quarters. It is a helmet cover designed to help withstand the shocks to the head.
